IX Character Loaned Ships

IX. Character Loaned Ships Section Last Updated: 7/27/09

These ships can be loaned to the players for their use if they do not have a ship of their own. The players are responsible for returning these ships at the end of any module and they are to repair or take care of any extensive damage done during the module.

Capsule: This basic YT-1300 was first loaned to Rebel forces in Sparks #19. Since then it has been modified several times. A space speed 8 engine was added from a PC donation in Sparks #82 (Interactive GenCon 2005). The shields were upgraded to 3D, the double ion cannon and double pulse lasers were both upgraded to quad systems, a proton torpedo rack was added, and 4 tons worth of scanner resistant hidden cargo compartments were added with funds from a PC donation in Sparks #100 (Interactive GenCon 2006). The Wandering Bantha was significantly damaged at the Battle of Shiva (GenCon 2007 Interactive – Sparks #109). The basic damage to the ship has been repaired (no longer considered damaged), but several systems have not been repaired and are operating at diminished levels.

Capsule: This ship once belonged to the Warden of a prison facility on K-4659. The Lantill Breeze was used in an operation and lost. This ship was claimed by Rebels as its replacement in Sparks #124B. The transponder (engine signature) and documentation was scrubbed, so there is no current bounty listed on The Open Door. The Lock and Key still has a 50,000 credit bounty on it. Also it would still be recognized by the Warden or Imperials operating in and around K-4659.

The weapons systems have a lockout control feature that is currently disabled. If it is reactivated, the weapons can only be utilized with the proper code, control cylinder, or disabling the lockout. Disabling the lockout requires a Moderate (15) Space Transports Repair roll or a Difficult (20) Computer/Programming Repair roll.

Capsule: The PB-950 is an older patrol boat, which saw its last productions shortly after the Clone Wars. The Empire phased out the 950 in favor of the Customs Corvette. There are still tens of thousands of 950s rounding out Imperial Customs forces and systems defense forces throughout the Empire.
This particular PB-950 was stolen by an enterprising group of Rebels from an Imperial Customs post during the 2005 GenCon Interactive (Sparks #82), and subsequently donated to the Rebellion for use on Special Forces missions. It has been refitted with a dual-phase transponder, which can be toggled between its two modes with an EASY (10) Space Transports roll from the pilot or co-pilots position. Its original, formal BOSS-registered code has a 50,000CR Imperial bounty associated with it; when running under this code, the ship has been re-christened the Corellia’s Folly. The secondary, fictitious code is associated with a courier/security vessel owned by one of Lans Garner’s numerous shelter corporations when running under this code, the ship is known as the Industrious Speed. It is presumed at this time that the Empire is unaware that this corporation is actually owned by Lans Garner.
Detecting the altered transponder will require a very difficult (25) Space Transports Repair roll or a heroic (35) Search or Sensors roll.
Forged BOSS registration documentation for its secondary identity as the Industrious Speed is aboard the PB-950, very difficult (25) Forgery or Bureaucracy to determine its fraudulent nature.
Requisitioning this ship for a mission (only one attempt may be made per mission) requires a difficult (20) Bureaucracy or Command roll.
Enterprising Rebels that requisition this ship are encouraged to improve upon the quality of its forged documentation or sensor shielding for the altered transponder, if they have the time, ability, and necessary materials to do so.
The Corellia’s Folly was significantly damaged at the Battle of Shiva (GenCon 2007 Interactive – Sparks #109). The basic damage to the ship was repaired (no longer considered damaged) after the battle, but several systems were not repaired and were operating at diminished levels. These damaged systems have currently all been repaired by Rebel operatives and are functioning normally.
